
College of Education
The College of Education is a learning community that supports the growth and aspirations of future teachers and educators who are equipped to impact the lives of current and emerging leaders. The college offers three educational programs now.
Each program is headed by a department chairperson who has authority in the assigned program area and leadership skills to lead a group of staff to achieve its goal. Each educational program offered by the college leads to a bachelor’s degree that equips the graduates with skills to teach and lead. Programs offered for the Bachelor of Education include Early Childhood. Education; Elementary Education with emphasis in Language Arts & Social Studies and in Math and
Science; Secondary Education with emphasis in Mathematics and English. The programs offer students the opportunity to experience coursework in pedagogy and the content areas. The College of Education strives to be a leader educationally through nurturing a setting of equity, inclusion, and diversity for all students.
Vision
This of the College of Education’s vision is to make education accessible by developing students’ abilities with the requisite knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to become qualified classroom teachers and educators trained to effectively prepare learners to become entrepreneurs, technologists, and change agents in the field of education.
Mission
The mission of this college is to equip men and women to become intellectually prepared, socially alert, and morally informed to foster innovation and collaboration through teaching and learning and to serve as teachers, supervisors, administrators, counselors, and other practitioners in the field of education.
